In order to keep Christ as our Cornerstone,
it is important that our parents, students, and administration come together in agreement of who we are and how we conduct ourselves.
Because of this, each person is asked to review and sign the Standards of Conduct agreement below in affirmations of our beliefs and expectations.
Corn Bible Academy is providing a Christ-centered environment to help parents train their children to grow in knowledge, in strength, in spirit, and in relation with God and others.
OUR FOUNDING CONVICTION
Corn Bible Academy was founded upon the conviction that young people should be privileged gain a solid academic education in an environment that promotes spiritual growth. We as a school believe the Bible is the sole authority of our lives and that spiritual growth begins with the initial act of accepting Christ into our lives. (II Corinthians 5:17)
As a part of its basic philosophy of education, Corn Bible Academy also recognizes:
- The home is primarily responsible for development of Christian character.
- The church is primarily responsible for development of a Christian conscience.
- The school is responsible for building on this foundation.
In order to build on this foundation, Corn Bible Academy will provide an environment conducive to the spiritual growth and development of you as a person. We believe a Standard of Conduct, based upon the following Biblical authority is necessary to provide such an environment. (I Corinthians 8:9, 12-13)
The lifestyle of the Christian will endeavor to avoid a lifestyle which causes the loss of sensitivity to the spiritual needs of world and the loss of the Christian’s physical, mental, or spiritual well-being. (I Corinthians 9:27) I Corinthians 10:31 says, “Whether ye eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
The awareness of the need for spiritual growth in the light of these principles has led Corn Bible Academy to adopt the following standards which we believe are essential to an environment which will best promote the spiritual growth for you as a student at Corn Bible Academy.
The school, therefore, expects each student to maintain a Christian standard of courtesy, kindness, morality, and honesty. The school further requires each student to refrain from bullying of other students (both verbal and physical), profanity, indecent language, gambling, cheating, sexual immorality which includes pre-marital sex, adultery, homosexuality and transgender activity, stealing, the use of any type of tobacco, drugs, alcohol, and pornographic music and materials, from participation in unlawful, violent, or destructive acts and other guidelines listed in the student and parent handbook including no tattoos. We believe that the restrictions listed above are types of conduct that are detrimental to an environment conducive to spiritual growth.
Students are expected to abide by these standards throughout their enrollment at Corn Bible Academy. This includes both in-term and out-of-term times – at school, home, or any other place. Students found to be out of harmony with the standards listed, may be asked to withdraw from the privilege of being at Corn Bible Academy.
Our mission affirms that this is a joint agreement between the school, the parent, and the student. It should be very obvious to the parent that the school will enforce these standards. It should also be obvious to the school that the parent will enforce these standards while they are associated with Corn Bible Academy. Our prayer is that the guidelines we are asking parents to adhere to would become their own conviction as they build their life and family on God’s Word. (Revised June, 2016)
Our Parent-Teacher Fellowship Committee helps revise our dress code as often as necessary to make sure that our students are dressed neat, clean, and modestly. We believe modesty is important in the growth of our young people. Students are allowed to wear jeans, t-shirts, and required length shorts. Thursdays are designated as "Crusader Attire Day" and all students are expected to wear a designated polo with the CBA logo.
