The Corn Bible Academy Mission
Statement:
Corn Bible Academy is providing a
Christ-centered environment to help parents train their children to grow in
knowledge, in strength, in spirit, and in relation with God and others.
CORN BIBLE ACADEMY
STANDARD OF CONDUCT
Corn Bible Academy was founded upon the
conviction that young people should be privileged to gain a solid academic
education in an environment that promotes spiritual growth. We as a school
believe the Bible is the sole authority of our lives and that spiritual growth
begins with the initial act of accepting Jesus Christ into our lives. (II
Corinthians 5:17)
As a part of its basic philosophy of
education, Corn Bible Academy also recognizes:
-
the home is primarily responsible for
development of Christian character
-
the church is primarily responsible for
development of a Christian conscience
-
the school is responsible for building on
this foundation
In order to build on this foundation, Corn
Bible Academy will provide an environment conducive to the spiritual growth and
development of you as a person. We believe a Standard of Conduct, based upon the
following Biblical authority is necessary to provide such an environment. (I
Corinthians 8:9,12-13) The lifestyle of the Christian will endeavor to avoid a
lifestyle which causes the loss of sensitivity to the spiritual needs of the
world and the loss of the Christian's physical, mental, or spiritual well-being.
(I Corinthians 9:27) I Corinthians 10:31 says, "Whether you eat or drink or
whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
The awareness of the need for spiritual
growth in the light of these principles has led Corn Bible Academy to adopt the
following standards which we believe are essential to an environment which will
best promote the spiritual growth for you as a student at CBA.
The school, therefore, expects each student
to maintain a Christian standard of courtesy, kindness, morality, and honesty.
The school further requires each student to refrain from bullying other students
(both verbal and physical), profanity, indecent language, gambling, cheating,
sexual immorality, social dancing, stealing, the use of any type of tobacco,
drugs, alcohol, and pornographic music and materials, and from participation in
unlawful, violent, or destructive acts. We believe that the restrictions listed
above are types of conduct which are detrimental to an environment conducive to
spiritual growth.
Students are expected to abide by these
standards throughout their enrollment at Corn Bible Academy. This includes both
in-term and out-of-term times - at school, home, or any other place. Students
found to be out of harmony with the standards listed may be asked to withdraw
from the privilege of being at Corn Bible Academy.
Our mission affirms that this is a joint
agreement between the school, the parent, and the student. It should be very
obvious to the parent that the school will enforce these standards. It should
also be obvious to the school that the parent enforces these standards while you
are associated with Corn Bible Academy. Our prayer is that the guidelines we are
asking you to adhere to would become your own conviction as you build your life
on God's Word.
